Unlike most of his Decepticon squadmates, Soundwave prefers a more subtle form of battle against his adversaries. Sure, Soundwave can handle himself in combat situations when the need arises, but the weapons he prefers to use are of the “sonic” variety… as a communications specialist, his primary role is to intercept Autobot transmissions and discover ways to use them against his foes. The things that are said in secret don’t stay that way when Soundwave is around, and through his network of spies and intelligence resources he can often gain strategic battlefield advantages for his team before the battle even begins. Demonstrating discretion in all forms of communication is the only way to rob him of his plan for victory… loose lips truly do sink ships.
The words we speak are more powerful than we often realize, with each of us possessing the ability to either speak life, hope, and grace into our situations or give our enemy a foothold in our lives. What we choose to say about ourselves and others either encourages and builds up the hearer or becomes weapons that our enemy will leverage to tear us down. Our words can and will be used against us in our real-world missions, so let’s make sure everything we say, write, and share both in public and in secret uplifts our souls and edifies the recipient instead of transforming into destructive ammunition for our adversaries.
But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. Matthew 12:36-37
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. Ephesians 4:29
