While Soundwave is a formidable opponent on his own merit, he is probably best known for his little army of spies and saboteurs like Ravage, Frenzy, and Laserbeak. Their diminutive size in relation to most of the other Decepticons might have made them appear to be lesser adversaries, but make no mistake about it… they were equally lethal and in many circumstances even more dangerous than their larger allies. These tiny warriors could infiltrate defenses and hide in plain sight with ease, making them the perfect foil for even the most powerful Autobot. Failing to recognize the threat they represented always ended badly… once they got in, their friends would soon follow.
Our spiritual enemies rarely come at us with large and obvious temptations like robbing an armored car or cheating on our spouses… it all starts with seemingly insignificant choices such as telling a “little” lie, stealing time from work, making one “small” flirtatious comment, or lingering for a second glance at something we shouldn’t have. And because these choices appear harmless, we tend to underestimate their danger until we are already caught in a place of fatal compromise. As Samson found out the hard way, no amount of strength can save us from our own careless dalliances with temptation no matter how small they may seem… let’s surrender every thought to Christ today and keep those little foxes at bay.
Catch us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines, for our vines have tender grapes. Song of Solomon 2:15
Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5
