Caught in the middle of the intergalactic warfare between the Autobots and the Decepticons sits humankind… the battle for Cybertron wasn’t something that the people of Earth previously had any vested interest in and it didn’t really involve them. But once the conflict found its way to our planet, sitting on the sidelines to see how it would play out was no longer an option. Failing to join the fight would only result in a Decepticon victory and a future of pain, enslavement, and eventually annihilation by Megatron and his army. The desire to remain neutral was no different than voting for tyranny and injustice… the only path to winning was to take a stand and join the battle.
Passive Christianity is an oxymoron… we are all called to take up our cross, follow in the footsteps of Christ, and fulfill the Great Commission in this battlefield for lost and hurting souls. Our enemy would like nothing more than to convince us to keep our faith to ourselves, hide in the safety of our private prayer closets, and watch this war play out from the comfort zones of our homes and churches. But we were called to get into the trenches, leave the ninety-nine to reach the one, and push back against the spiritual darkness seeking to take over our planet. Choosing not to fight is a choice to surrender this generation to the other side. We weren’t “asked” to go. We were given a direct command to go by Jesus Himself.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20
Then the master said to the servant, “Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” Luke 14:23
And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15
