“Energon”: Recharging is Part of the Strategy

At the heart of the conflict between the Autobots and the Decepticons is the need for energy… or more accurately “Energon”. Energon functions as both food and fuel for the Cybertronians, making it the most valuable and coveted resource in the galaxy. Even the most powerful Autobots and Decepticons have the need to feed and recharge to maintain their strength, and acquiring and possessing stockpiles of Energon to heal and restore the depleted is often the difference maker between success and victory in their battles. As logical beings, the necessity of Energon to survive isn’t something that brings them shame or makes them feel weak… they understand that successful missions always require a replenishment strategy.

In our modern “hustle culture”, we can all fall victim to the mindset that we must always be moving, grinding, and stressing ourselves out with impossible deadlines and untenable demands on our minds and bodies. But when investigating the relatively short public ministry of Jesus, He never appeared in a rush… and He took frequent breaks to press pause, get alone with the Heavenly Father, and press the recharge button in prayer as often as He needed to. If the Son of God Himself required regularly scheduled “Energon” sessions to accomplish His mission, how much more do we need to intentionally build time into our day to stop, pray, and regain our strength?

However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities. So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed. Luke 5:15-16

Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles. Luke 6:12-13

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16
