One of the most fearsome foes the Autobots have faced on the battlefield is Devastator, a massive Decepticon created through the fusion of the Constructicons into one monstrous opponent. He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he is certainly one of the most dangerous. Taken individually, the Constructicons aren’t quite as intimidating and they can typically be defeated in battle by most Autobots with relative ease… but when they are combined together they form a nearly unstoppable juggernaut whose brute strength can overwhelm even the mightiest warriors on the Autobot roster. Facing him in his assembled state is a fool’s errand… the key to defeating him is to keep calm, break him down into pieces, and solve one problem at a time.
We should not be surprised that the enemy of our souls is forming weapons against us… the Bible told us that would happen. And he rarely comes at us in “dumb ninja” style allowing us to take on each problem one at a time… instead, he brings multiple problems to us at all once to overwhelm us. When we feel like the enemy is coming in like a flood and we can’t keep our head above water, that is a sign we need to hand each problem to the Lord and allow Him to fill us with His peace during our battle and guide us on how to proceed. Let’s deny our devastating adversaries of their best weapon and overcome our fear with faith.
“Indeed they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me. Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord. Isaiah 54:15, 17
When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:19b
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
