The Dinobots are one of the most interesting character studies in the Transformers universe… this group of incredibly powerful robots are nearly unstoppable as a team, but because of the deeply rooted mistrust they have of Optimus Prime and the Autobots they are unpredictable allies at best. To be fair, there is a very good reason for their “outsider” status… they were done wrong by the Autobots in the past, and that pain is difficult to forget. But they are also critical to the success of the larger mission to defeat Megatron and protect their way of life, so moving past their grudge to fulfill their calling as warriors became the key to victory for all sentient beings.
The hardest wounds to heal from often come from the people we trusted the most not to hurt us, and when damage is caused by family, friends, or “church people” the pain runs deep. But if we permit those events to define us, we allow the true enemy of our souls to live rent-free in our minds. Even when apologies aren’t offered or feel inadequate, let’s deny them the power to take us off of the battlefield. The nail prints in Christ’s hands were caused by those He loved, and those scars provided us with our greatest victory. Love, forgiveness, mercy and grace are weapons our adversaries can’t overcome or understand… let’s bring them to the battle today.
