Ratchet has one of the most challenging jobs in the entire Autobots squad… as the chief medical officer, he is charged with both working on the front lines of the battlefield as a soldier while also repairing his fallen and damaged comrades. Putting himself in harm’s way to perform these duties isn’t the safest way to do his job, and the Deceptions certainly don’t take it easy on him simply because he is a “medic”, but in order to fulfill his calling Ratchet frequently has to make the decision to disregard his own safety and comfort in order to care for the needs of others. It’s a dangerous and often thankless job, but mercy and grace are only worth as much as someone is willing to sacrifice in order to give it.
While our prayers are truly powerful, as followers of Christ we are called to do more than simply offer our “thoughts and prayers” to the hurting souls we come into contact with… we have been commissioned to act as the hands and feet of Christ on this planet to help and heal the suffering and wounded. This battlefield is filled with voices calling for a “medic”, and the Lord sends us out as answers to the prayers of our family members, friends, coworkers, and even strangers who need exactly what each of us possess. He designed this intersection for a reason… will we step out of our comfort zone and put our faith into action?
