Detective Pikachu is a very unique spin-off in the Pokémon universe, eschewing the normal battles and capturing that made the Pokémon franchise famous and instead focusing on the story of a lone Pikachu seeking to solve a big mystery. Sure, Pikachus aren’t typically known for their sleuthing skills, but this situation called for this Pikachu to stretch far beyond their comfort zone if they were going to navigate this situation and discover the reality that was hidden beneath the surface. The truth was out there to be found… but it took a Pikachu who was willing to seek it out to find it.

When we are struggling to see God in the midst of our struggles and battles in life, we need to ask ourselves an important question… are we truly looking for Him or are we simply hoping He will reveal Himself in an obvious way? Our Heavenly Father does not intentionally make Himself difficult to find, but only a heart that is truly seeking Him will be able to see Him through the wind and waves we are enduring. He is always present in our storms and He promised never to leave us or forsake us, so if we are feeling adrift or alone we need to open our eyes a little wider and look deeper than our circumstances to find His presence in our current situation. Let’s pick up a magnifying glass of faith today and search for His purpose in our predicament… when we seek His kingdom first we will always find Him.

Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:12-13

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33
