While Megatron was a truly villainous character in his own right, there were still aspects of his character that demonstrated a form of loyalty and even a begrudging respect to some of his chief Decepticon allies. But his transformation by Unicron into the remorseless Galvatron unleashed a version of Megatron that was truly terrifying. Megatron was certainly driven by a desire for power at any cost, but after Unicron reformatted him into Galvatron he began showing a level of cruelty and contempt far beyond anything he had ever done before. Megatron might have been given a new lease on life, but it came at a horrific cost… he wasn’t even truly himself anymore.
One of the most chilling warnings Jesus gave us is in regard to the danger of a cleansed vessel that remains empty… while the Lord offers each of us a fresh start and freedom from all our past sins, if we don’t fill that newly cleaned out space with His words and His Spirit we can end up in a worse position than when we started. Being set free from the demonic oppression that kept us bound is just the first step in a transformative process that will continue throughout our lives… and it starts with us making the conscious choice to close the door on our past temptations and allow Jesus to not only break those old chains but to move in permanently, leaving no room for our old “roommates” or any of their friends to return.
When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Matthew 12:43-45
Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
