There have been several times in my gaming history when I reached the horrific realization that I needed a fresh start… and I don’t mean simply resetting a checkpoint or restarting the mission. I’m talking about starting completely from scratch with a new save file. Maybe the character I created doesn’t fit my play style, or I realize too late that I have invested all of my experience points into developing the wrong skills. At times I have regretted the dialogue choices I’ve made, and now my progression is limited by these poor decisions. The only thing left to do is to stop, admit that I have gone the wrong way, and start over with a clean slate.

We all reach points in life where we would love to start fresh… and it is only through Christ that we can. No matter how far we have gone the wrong way, the Father forgives, refreshes, and restores His repentant children. Saving people is kind of His thing… the whole reason Jesus came down here is so we don’t have to continue down this path of pain and regret any longer. We can choose to allow Him to make us a new creation and start over again… and if others have hurt us, let’s offer them this same clean start today as well. Let’s make this the day we press start on a new save file… for ourselves and for others, too!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
