Often the most relatable part of my character’s journey is when they are forced to pause their grand destiny to save the world in order to hunt down some sticks, locate some plastic tubing, or go fill some empty jars up with water in order to continue their story. It’s kind of the equivalent of watching Master Chief go grocery shopping. But these seemingly common and ordinary items are more critical to our mission than they appear on the surface, and when properly combined these separate pieces form game-changing items of exceptional value. The act of crafting items in our games helps us see the true worth of these components, exponentially multiplying their capabilities by forging them into something new.
Even in the body of Christ, we can still battle feelings of insignificance and discouragement, believing we are simply too small, common, or unworthy to make an impact. But the Lord has intentionally chosen each of us, no matter how we view ourselves, to combine together and accomplish His will here on earth. Each of us are critical, valuable components that are designed to operate in tandem with each other and in submission to His Spirit to achieve victories we could never accomplish on our own… so let’s offer our talents to Him today trusting that the little we possess becomes MUCH in His hands.
For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. 1 Corinthians 1:26-29
