Happy Mario Day!

Recognizing March 10th as  “MAR10 Day” has become an annual international celebration, but it wasn’t always this way… as a matter of fact, everyone’s favorite plumber started his gaming career as a simple, two-dimensional character named “Jumpman” long before he grew into the global icon we all know and love today. He wasn’t even the star of the first game he was in… that honor belonged to Donkey Kong. But it was from these humble beginnings that his destiny was slowly revealed, and over the course of many years and dozens of game releases he developed his signature gameplay style, found his unique voice, and became the definitive gaming mascot for generations of gamers all across the world.

It may be hard to see what the Lord is building in our lives from our current perspective, and in many ways we may not currently resemble who we are in the process of becoming in Him. But His intentional development of each of us is a story that will unfold over the entire course of our time down here, with each chapter (including the ones we’d rather skip) serving a critical purpose in our growth. He teaches us patience during our small beginnings, refines us through the trials we face, and uses the events of each day to build and shape our character. Let’s trust His process… He is developing us for World 8-4 and beyond. 🙂

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin. Zechariah 4:10a
