Microsoft Game Pass: A “Day One” Sacrifice that Comes at a Cost

Microsoft made several expensive investments into the future with their Game Pass service, but giving away their newest games such as Halo Infinite and Starfield on their launch days as part of the service represents one of the most costly offerings they could make. While Sony typically waits for a time that is more convenient to them (and when the games are less relevant) to place their first-party titles onto their PS Plus service, Xbox demonstrates that they are fully invested in the future of Game Pass no matter how much it costs them by giving every subscriber the very best games that they possess on ā€œDay Oneā€.

Each day we will be brought into positions where we are asked to give the Lord the best of our time, energy, and capabilities for the growth of His kingdom, and this honor will rarely come at a moment that we prefer or that is convenient to us. Following Christ always comes at a cost, and part of the sacrifice it requires is placing His will for our lives above all of our other priorities and desires. As we go about our day, are we truly giving Him the very best of what we possess or just the rest of what we feel we can comfortably afford to give Him? The price that we are willing to pay to obey Him is where our love and devotion is truly demonstrated, so let’s give Him the best of ourselves in all that we do today.

Then the king said to Araunah, ā€œNo, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God with that which costs me nothing.ā€Ā 2 Samuel 24:24a

Then Jesus said to His disciples, ā€œIf anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.ā€Ā Matthew 16:24
