The final closure of the Xbox 360 marketplace marked the end of an incredible era in gaming… and it also meant the loss of the ability to buy any of the games that were exclusively available in a digital format on that platform ever again. While advances in technology means that all games eventually fade from the spotlight, since these titles never existed in a physical disc form they essentially ceased to exist for those who didn’t buy them while they were available. And as more games become “digital-only” releases, they will all face this same fate one day… only those who choose to acquire them while they can still be found will possess them permanently.
How we use our limited time down here and what we choose to invest it into matters in both this life and into eternity, and each turning page of the calendar represents perishable moments of time that we will wish we could have back one day. In all of our pursuits in life, let’s chase those treasures that will last eternally… treasures that are exclusively found in the pursuit of Christ and His guidance for us. Each new day provides new, exclusive, limited-time opportunities to not only spend time with Him but to share His grace with others… and there are no guarantees that those same chances will still exist tomorrow. Let’s seek Him and share Him while He can still be found.
Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Isaiah 55:6
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21
