The Song She Couldn’t Write… Until the Time was Right

In Rumi’s darkest hour, all of her greatest fears came to pass at the same time. Unable to hide her patterns and the secrets about her past anymore, abandoned by her teammates, and betrayed by the one person she thought could understand her, her tearful admission to Celine was that she “thought she could fix it all, but she ran out of time”. In that moment, it looked like all hope was lost and her time was up… but since the movie didn’t end right then, all of us in the audience knew that even though the situation looked bleak, her story wasn’t over yet. The song that she couldn’t write before was finally ready to be unleashed, and walking down that painful and humbling path was the only way to place her in the perfect position at this specific moment in time to defeat Gwi-Ma for good.

Many times in my life I have looked back at my past with regret, thinking about all of the time I wasted chasing selfish and sinful pursuits. For years, I believed that I missed my destiny in life because of my foolish choices. The voices in my head told me that I had run out of time, but the Bible says the Lord is both the Author AND the Finisher of our faith. He knew our end from the beginning, and He set the stage for this specific moment in time. Until the end credits roll on our lives we are not out of time, we are JUST in time.

Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14b

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, “My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure”. Isaiah 46:10
