The revelation that Rumi carried the very same patterns as the enemies they had spent their entire lives fighting was almost too much for her teammates to bear… and the feelings of betrayal and broken trust ran deep, nearly ending Huntrix for good. While they initially struggled with this new knowledge of their sister-in-arms, Zoey and Mira didn’t take the opportunity to kick Rumi while she was down. Instead, they chose to rally around their repentant teammate, regroup, and come together to forge a bond that was even stronger than before. For years they were taught that their faults and fears must never be seen, but through this experience they learned that by offering forgiveness and restoration they could find unexpected beauty in the broken glass.

Our brothers and sisters in Christ will let us down and we will do the same, but what we decide to do AFTER that will either strengthen our bond through forgiveness or give the enemy a foothold in our lives. We are at our most Christ-like when we offer undeserved mercy and grace to others, so let’s do more than just forgive those who have broken our hearts and our trust. Let’s follow the example of Jesus when He not only forgave Peter for his betrayal, He built their relationship back stronger than it was before. Restoration is our song, and this is what it sounds like 🙂

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. James 5:16a

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
