The backstory for Grogu (or “Baby Yoda” for those who still refuse to accept his legal name), has been the cause of more speculation in the Star Wars universe than the age-old question of who shot first, Solo or Greedo. Where did he come from? Is he related to Yoda? Why doesn’t he speak? What is he doing during the sequel trilogy? While some of these may eventually get answered, many times the answers we receive only generates more questions… some we will never get the answer to, and others we may get an answer to but still won’t fully understand. But that’s okay, because I’m still enjoying the ride even when I don’t know exactly where it is going.
While it’s not what any of us probably wants to hear, the Lord isn’t required to answer any of our questions… and even if He chose to, we wouldn’t truly understand most of His answers, anyways. He is the Almighty, All-knowing, Sovereign God of all creation, and His thoughts are far beyond our comprehension because He sees past our present difficulties to a future that we wouldn’t have anticipated. Let’s avoid the temptation to question His wisdom when our lives don’t make sense, and instead accept by faith that He is holding our situation securely in His hands. His ways are higher than ours, so let’s submit to His divine will today… His way is the ONLY Way.
But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, “Why did you make me like this?” Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use? Romans 9:20-21
Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
