Over my years of adventures with the Legend of Zelda series I have found that there are parts or each game that don’t make a whole lot of sense, and even after the final credits have rolled I am left wondering why certain things happened as well as why others did not. Some portions of the game felt oddly placed, overly contrived, or simply unnecessary because I never saw a meaningful connection between them and the larger narrative being told. Sometimes the story is a quest across time to solve problems that exist in both the past and future, and other times it’s about a giant fish. Each game tells an important story in its’ own unique way… it’s just not always done in the way I would’ve told it.
There are many parts of our stories that won’t make any sense to us on this side of eternity… pains and losses that we endured without an explanation, side quests we completed with no visible purpose, and entire episodes that end differently than we would’ve preferred. And because we have a limited perspective, the reason behind many of these events occurring will remain a mystery to us until we reach the other side. Let’s release our need to understand His ways and accept that He has instructed us to follow Him by faith, not by sight. His answers are far beyond our comprehension anyways. 🙂
For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. 1 Corinthians 13:9-10, 12
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! “For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?” Romans 11:33-34
