In the interest of being 100% honest, I have a confession to make… I haven’t always been Navi’s biggest fan. Having my game interrupted by Navi’s persistent cries of “Hey, LISTEN” isn’t my favorite part of playing a Zelda title… but while Navi’s constant reminders to listen and look in a specific direction may not always be appreciated, there are MANY times that Navi’s intervention gave me exactly the guidance that I needed. Without Navi’s watchful eye and voice of direction to point out something I was missing, I would’ve remained stuck where I was at… I wasn’t in a position to see something that was crystal clear from Navi’s higher point of view.
The gentle reminders of the Holy Spirit in our ears guiding us on what we should be doing may not always find us to be a fully appreciative audience… especially when we’d rather go our own way. But we lack the perspective that our omniscient Heavenly Father possesses, and it is through those whispers that He brings back to our remembrance what we’ve been taught as well as guides us into what we’ve yet to learn. Let’s tune our ears to His voice today… the answers that we’ve been searching for may be hidden in plain sight, just waiting for us to stop, open up our hearts in prayer, and listen.
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:26
When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. John 16:13-14
