Mario Kart: It’s Not Over Until It’s OVER

Mario Kart races aren’t over until they are truly OVER… until one racer actually crosses the finish line, there are still multiple paths to finish first for those who keep fighting all the way to the end. From the various power-ups that can quickly level the playing field to the lead kart making a critical mistake that creates an opportunity to catch up, we are all still in the race until that finish line ribbon is broken… as long as we don’t allow our slow start to get in our heads. Some of us start slow on lap one, and others take a spill on lap two, but it is how we choose to run our final lap and finish the race that matters most.

Whether we started this race going the wrong direction like the Apostle Paul or accidentally drove off the edge and fell into the water like the Apostle Peter, all of us make some mistakes while running this race… but the Lord doesn’t hold our slow starts against any of His repentant children. His sacrifice set us free so we can run at full speed, breaking every chain that once held us… even if we did the very thing that we promised we wouldn’t, or chose not to do what we said we would do. We can’t change how we started, but we can all still choose how we finish, so let’s press forward in confidence that His grace is sufficient for us… this race isn’t over yet!

“But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’ He answered and said, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he regretted it and went. Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, ‘I go sir,’ but he did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to Him, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you.” Matthew 21:28-31
