Loading Screens: The Day Between Good Friday and Easter

If I’m being honest, I’m not a big fan of loading screens in my video games, especially when they are the only thing standing between me and the next part of the story. But that screen that is telling me to wait for the next part of the game to load isn’t a punishment… it is simply letting me know that the next chapter requires parts of the game that are completely invisible to me right now to fully load up before I dive into them. Sure, waiting isn’t enjoyable, but it isn’t the absence of something happening… it’s the active presence of something being prepared that will take me somewhere I haven’t been before. When it looks like nothing is happening on the outside, the loading screen is often concealing a whole new level that’s being generated for me on the inside.

Between Good Friday and Christ’s resurrection was a day where on the outside it looked like nothing was happening… the tomb was still sealed, and all hope appeared to be lost. And many times it is easy to feel like we are stuck in day two, with no external sign that our situation is changing. But the Lord is doing something in these times of waiting that is beyond our ability to see or comprehend that will usher us into a new day far beyond our hopes or dreams… we just have to keep our faith in His promises and be willing to wait while He prepares the reveal 🙂

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord! Psalm 27:13-14
