Team Sonic is frequently pressed into service fighting one exhausting battle after another with the fate of the entire planet on the line, but if you were talking to Tails you would never know it. His consistently positive and cheerful attitude keeps his entire team motivated and encouraged even when they are facing incredibly uncertain times and fighting the most dangerous of opponents. Tails isn’t oblivious to the peril they are in, he just refuses to allow it to change who he is or affect his worldview. His attitude is more than simply blind optimism, toxic positivity, or a stubborn denial to acknowledge the reality of the situation they are in… he has simply made the decision to choose joy in every circumstance that he faces

We don’t know what today’s missions will hold, but we can always choose our response to the battle… not to simply force a smile or pretend to be positive when times are tough, but to face every challenge with joy knowing that what our enemy has designed for evil the Lord will use for our good. We only grow in our faith by enduring these trials and allowing the Lord to use them to build us up, so while we don’t get to select the adventures that we are going on today, we can maintain our cheerful disposition even when we are marching through the valley of the shadow of death… because we aren’t facing them alone.

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. James 1:2-4
