The “Way Finder”

I don’t have much free time to play video games, so I can’t waste my limited gaming time running around in the wrong direction.  Fortunately, most modern games provide me with plenty of “way finders” to keep me on the right track… from quest logs that remind me of my main priorities to a literal arrow on the map that points me in the correct direction. In my video games, I am only as lost as I choose to be… and no matter how far I get “off track”, if I’m willing to humble myself and utilize these resources, I can get back on the optimal path quickly. Even more importantly, if I proactively consult them before making decisions I can avoid most of these unnecessary and time-wasting future detours.

We only pass through this life once, and if we want to avoid the traps and pitfalls that waste our time and consume our energy we must start each day by consulting the “way finder” for this game we call life… the Bible. And like most guides, it works best when it is an ACTIVE part of our experience… before, during, and after each decision we make. By seeking His guidance before making a move, the light that His Word shines on our path will provide us with the insight we need for each step we take as well as show us the way back if we happen to get off track.

Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21
