Sue Storm: An “Invisibility” Issue

While each member of the Fantastic Four were transformed in some pretty visually obvious and remarkable ways, Sue Storm was altered in the completely opposite direction, becoming the “Invisible Woman”. While the event that gave her the ability to “disappear” and generate force fields meant that she was the least optically visible member of the team, the team would not have succeeded without her critical but “invisible” contributions… her missions were designed to be completed “under the radar” in a behind-the-scenes manner that only she could accomplish. Without her gifts and her sometimes “unseen” actions, the Four wouldn’t be very “Fantastic”.

There will be many times in our service to the Lord that we will feel “invisible”… our prayers feel like they are going unheard, our problems persist without resolution, and our labor for the Lord fails to yield any visibly measurable results. But His eyes are never off of us… He sees through us down to the thoughts and intents of our hearts, and keeps a running count of every hair on our head. Everything we do for Him and His kingdom is seen and important, even if we can’t see it ourselves. Even when we are feeling invisible, He sees us, hears us, and cares about us… and the work we do for Him that nobody else sees often achieves the most important missions of all.

O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain it. Psalm 139:1-6

Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31
