A Christmas Question

Here is a Christmas question for you… if you could somehow insert yourself into ANY game and become the main character, who would you choose? Think carefully… sure, you would receive all of their powers and capabilities, but you would also take on all of the burdens, the risk, the pain, the losses, and the reality that ā€œGame Overā€ is one mistimed jump away. Would we still willingly trade places with our virtual avatar, knowing all the challenges we are going to face and the pain we will have to endure? I honestly can’t think of one character I would be willing to trade places with, because I know exactly what the path ahead holds for them.

Jesus KNEW what He was taking on when He came down here… but He also knew He was the ONLY one who could accomplish this mission. He came to bring joy and peace to the world, but to do that He had to willingly choose to absorb a level of unearned pain and suffering behind our comprehension. He made the decision to accept every one of our human limitations and take our place, knowing in advance exactly what it would cost. And because He chose to walk every mile we will ever walk in our shoes, we can fully trust Him each step of the way on our journey… He knows all to well how hard it can be down here, and He came so we wouldn’t face it alone.

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
