Most gaming protaganists are designed to be underdogs… massively outnumbered, woefully outgunned, and facing an overpowered and seemingly unstoppable opponent. But that’s what makes our co-dependent journey with them so rewarding… this epic adventure we’re taking will require us to work together, as I lead them into situations they wouldn’t have chosen so I can grow and build them into the conqueror they will become. My gaming avatar may not always appreciate my choices, as the places I’m leading them through will often make them feel tired and uncomfortable. But I’m actually their biggest fan, and even my unpopular decisions are designed to prepare them for what’s next.
Sometimes the things that God permits to exist or chooses not to remove from our lives can be hard to understand, and the way He prepares and develops us may often feel uncomfortable or unnecessary. But the Lord knows the battles we are about to face, and He is using these circumstances to train and equip us for the path that lies ahead. It is in our trusting dependence on Him that these unbeatable challenges will be conquered, and through the combination of His power and our obedience these giants will fall.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39
Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. ”Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:8-9
