In most of my gaming experiences, the primary antagonist reveals themselves in a grandiose display of overwhelming power at a time when my inexperienced protagonist is no match for them. And as the game continues, the villain’s capabilities only grow in strength, making them seem even MORE unstoppable… but thanks to the obstacles they keep throwing at me, my abilities are growing as well. What once seemed to be impossible slowly becomes the inevitable conclusion to the story, with my character finally defeating this formerly invincible foe. I just had to take this journey one step at a time, slowly growing stronger through each battle… just as the developer of the story had planned all along.
Today’s battles may seem like too much to handle, and tomorrow’s may look impossible… but these are the very challenges that the Lord uses to prepare us for those even larger boss fights that lie ahead. If we were responsible for doing this on our own we SHOULD be worried… but He never asked us to do anything in our own strength or power. When we walk with Christ through the fire and into the lion’s den, He will equip us with exactly what we need at the precise time that we need it. No need to worry… He’s got today AND tomorrow in His hands.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:34
“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit”, says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6b
