Mario Kart is a classic for a reason… over the years it has defined the kart racing genre with its’ simplicity and accessibility. While picking up the coins scattered around the course is a priority because it increases our top speed, accelerating to the front of the pack has a down side… it makes us a primary target for turtle shells, and as soon as we take a hit, those precious coins we collected scatter all across the pavement. What I am carrying at the point of an attack is revealed by what pops out of me when I take that unexpected hit. And as believers in Christ we are going to take some unexpected hits today… plan on it.
Following the Lord absolutely places a target on our backs, and what we have chosen to consume PRIOR to that surprise attack will come pouring out of us when we absorb the inevitable impact. What we actively ingest and download into our hearts and minds is what will come out of our mouths… if we invest time with the Lord, that pain will cause the positive things we placed in our heart to flow out of our mouth. Let’s proactively fill our heart up with Him today BEFORE we need it.
