Few game series are as perfectly setup as Kingdom Hearts for a rhythm-based spinoff… and “Melody of Memory” makes good on the potential with an exploration of the story from a completely different gameplay style. In this game, timing is EVERYTHING… while the main entries in the series are designed to support a little more “free-styling” for Sora and his pals, this one requires matching our movements to both the music and specific button prompts. While waiting for just the right time to match them demands both patience and restraint, advancing only occurs when our efforts are coordinated with the rhythm established by the game creator and the events surrounding us.
Following the Lord in obedience is all about His “timing”… our attempts to do the right things at the wrong time will always end in disastrous results. The Lord carefully orchestrated our story and the actions we are meant to take to intertwine with the needs of others and the world around us at specific dates and times that cannot be rushed… and if we fully submit ourselves to Him each day, He will guide our movements to align with His perfect timing.
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Psalm 37:7
Then Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready.” Matthew 7:6
