Unlike most modern games that typically allow us to save anywhere we want, Kingdom Hearts sticks to a rigid “save point” system that forces us to come to specific places on the map to assess and save our progress. While this may seem limiting on the surface, this is designed to direct us to specific places on each level that our journey MUST pass through, making them a navigational mandate that ensures we all pass through these critical and unavoidable waypoints on our path to the final endgame.
We all have defined “checkpoints” in life that exist as fixed moments in time that we cannot alter… and as I look back over my life, there’s definitely portions I wish I could change, from my own poor choices to the actions of others that dramatically altered the path my life took. But even these undesired events led me to the relationship with the Lord that I have now, and without these “anchor points” I would be an entirely different person than I am today. Let’s not waste another moment wondering “what if that didn’t happen” or regretting mistakes we repented of. These save points will make sense one day, and it will all work together for good.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11
But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. Genesis 50:20
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
