When I begin a new game I tend to feel weak, powerless, and a little bit lost as I grapple with an unfamiliar control scheme and face battles that are far above my current skill level. Every step I take is filled with new enemies, harder missions, and bad news coming from every direction. I can’t even imagine surviving, much less finishing the game in my current pathetic state. But the developer designed a path to the ending that was invisible to me at the start, and as the final credits rolled I could look back and see that I always had everything I needed at the exact time that I needed it to get there.
When we take the time to stop and truly realize the infinite power, knowledge, and capabilities of our Heavenly Father, our circumstances may not seem to immediately change… but our perspective on them will. The adversaries and challenges that are overwhelming us with their size and strength are mere insects compared to our Lord’s indescribable omnipotence. Let’s not give in to fear when these inevitable trials arrive… let’s put our trust in our incomparable Lord to solve these problems according to His plan, in ways far beyond our comprehension.
Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, “My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.” Isaiah 46:9-10
Surely he will never be shaken; the righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. He will not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established; he will not be afraid, until he sees his desire upon his enemies. Psalm 112:6-8
