The “Nobodies” that impede our progress in the Kingdom Hearts games are a truly tragic group of opponents… they are beings made up of a body and soul, but they doesn’t possess a heart. Because of their missing heart, it isn’t surprising that they make life more difficult for Sora and his friends… they are seeking what they are lacking from the wrong places and serving a villain who manipulates those desires into performing his bidding. But a “Nobody” isn’t a hopeless case… Roxas, Namine, and Axel were restored as whole beings because Sora cared enough to help them become the “Somebody” they were always meant to be.
As beings created by the Father for fellowship with Him, we have been designed to live in His presence… and without Him, we are only living with half of what we were built to run on. A life being lived without His heart within us results in us feeling like a “Nobody”, spending our lives seeking to fill that missing part with all of the wrong solutions. Rather than see those on the other side of our faith as opponents, let’s show mercy and kindness, remembering that before His grace we were missing our heart as well.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17
Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins. James 5:19-20
