The sheer accessibility of playing a Kingdom Hearts game is one of the reasons the series became so popular, but that doesn’t mean the missions they contain are easy… success still requires a combination of both preparation and execution. From gathering materials to synthesize items, seeking out and acquiring specific pieces of armor to optimize our load outs, and actually performing the platforming and combat that advances the story, these battles aren’t automatically won. Sora and his crew might be gifted, but these gifts still have to be cultivated and applied to achieve victory.
While the weapons we’ve been called to wield in our day-to-day battles are spiritual rather than physical, there are still things we must do in our physical realm as His servants to work these fields until he return… and these tasks will require spiritual preparation to physically accomplish. Our willingness to serve the Lord is only one part of the equation… to achieve success in today’s missions also requires our prayerful preparation, deliberate study, and intentional activation of our gifts to put on our armor and engage in battle with the darkness.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:10-13
