The original iteration of the Microsoft Kinect was ahead of its’ time… but because the technology as well as the software support to deliver on all of its’ promises wasn’t fully ready, the Kinect ultimately failed to live up to all the hype. Timing is everything… the convergence of great games and a unique interface could have forever changed the way we experience games, but even the best ideas executed at the wrong time always end in disappointment. Having a vision is good, and possessing the ability to execute it is better… but the best things come to those who wait for the perfect alignment of vision, capability, and destiny.
The Lord’s timing is rarely the same as ours, and the dreams He places in our hearts often have delivery dates far later than we’d prefer. During time periods that appear to represent a delay, He is aligning the partners we’ll need, the opportunities we’ll step into, and our own abilities to walk in the destiny He designed for us. Moses led sheep for forty years before he spent his next forty years guiding Israel to the promised land… so let’s find peace knowing we aren’t simply waiting for Him, we’re preparing.
For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hurries toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it delays, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay long. Habakkuk 2:3
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. Lamentations 3:25-26
