Xbox Live wasn’t the first online game network, but it certainly changed the way many of us played games forever. I never even owned a “chat headset” until I purchased my first Xbox Live kit that came with one… and now I can’t imagine playing online with my friends without one. Even if I’m in an entirely different game we can still be in a party together, allowing me to talk to them, share what I’m going through, and easily invite them into my game to join me if I need help. I never have to play alone unless I choose to, even if I am playing a single-player experience… but it’s still up to me to put on my headset, initiate the chat, and participate.

Our access to the Almighty God in prayer is an incredible gift that we often take for granted… the omniscient Creator of the universe literally waiting for these little clumps of dust that He made to call out to Him and talk to Him. Rather than waiting to reach out to Him until we have gotten stuck and need assistance, we should keep an open dialogue with Him at all times so He can advise us through His Spirit throughout our day in real time. We choose our proximity to His voice… so let’s keep the chat line open.

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them. Psalm 145:18-19
