“Guilty Pleasure” Games: Not Ashamed

We all have them… those “guilty pleasure” games that are categorically rejected by the entire gaming world as terrible, broken titles that on a scale of 1 to 10 would receive a negative 100… yet we still love, play, and enjoy them.  Some of my favorite games over the years belong buried in a landfill with a pile of ET cartridges… games that are SO universally reviled that if anyone knew I played them and actually LIKED them, they would probably challenge my credibility as a gamer.  But as imperfect as they are, they sit proudly on my recently played list… because I love them.

Many times in my life I have made decisions that brought shame on myself, my family, my friends, and worst of all my Creator.  But as embarrassing as my behavior has been to the Lord on many occasions, He still freely admits that He both knows me and accepts me as HIS child.  And if the Son of God is willing to acknowledge that this wayward, imperfect, prodigal nerd belongs to His family and claims me as His own despite my flaws, then the least I can do is proudly name myself as His loyal follower everywhere I go and in everything I do.

Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God. Luke 12:8

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. Romans 1:16
