Just about ANYONE can be the hero of the story in a video game… many of my favorite iconic gaming heroes were simply regular characters living very normal lives until their true destiny was unveiled. Ordinary people like Mario jumped from solving pipe clogs to saving princesses, Sora exchanged his simple island life for a keyblade wielding adventure, and even characters who started off on the wrong side (like the Arbiter from Halo) can find the path to redemption and help save the day.
Our complicated backstories, the lack of a “heroic” resume, or a seemingly plain/ordinary start in life has no bearing on the extraordinary things the Lord has planned for each of our lives. He is the One who qualifies us for the adventure and inheritance we have been destined for… and His stamp of approval is the only one that truly matters. We don’t need someone else’s approval to do what He has called us to do. Whether we started off slow, unnoticed, or running the wrong direction… we have an important and critical destiny that is uniquely ours… and His qualification is the only seal of approval we need to do His work.
Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. Colossians 1:12
For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 1 Corinthians 15:9-10
