Bubble Bobble and “Prayer” Bubbles

One of my earliest gaming co-op experiences was “Bubble Bobble”, a game featuring a pair of little dragons whose only offensive weapon is… wait for it… blowing bubbles. To clear the level of adversaries, each dragon must trap their antagonists in a “bubble” first, and then physically pop the bubble to eliminate them completely. Simply surrounding the enemy with a bubble wasn’t enough… the dragons had to work together to encase them in bubbles and then take action to pop them in order to clear the stage and move forward to the next level.

Many times in life I’ve reached out to the Lord in prayer about an issue that was impacting me or someone else, surrounding the problem with a “bubble” of prayer to seek guidance… and while there are certainly times He answers those prayers in a supernatural way, there are many other times where He simply guides me on what specific actions He wants ME to take in my situation or on His behalf for others. We should always encase our problems in prayer, but “popping” these bubbles often requires us to physically perform actions of obedience, doing the good work He has called us to do.

If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. James 2:15-17

Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. James 4:17
