The “Paper Mario” series of games represent a massive departure from the simple, run and jump, side-scrolling adventures of a standard Mario game… these titles feature a real story with actual depth, exploring each character’s motivations (beyond searching for princesses in different castles) through actual dialogue and character development. But this deeper gaming experience full of rich exposition and meaningful interactions also requires a deeper commitment from the player… while I can run through most Mario games on auto-pilot, the Paper Mario series is exclusively designed for those seeking a full narrative adventure, not simply another casual gaming experience. 

If our interest in God is limited to getting us into  the best possible eternal endgame, we have missed the point of Christ’s redemptive work on the cross. He didn’t come just to give us a path to heaven… He came to bring us into a deeper, fully reconciled relationship with our Heavenly Father. But this journey isn’t for the casual fan… we find as much of Him as we choose to seek. Let’s search for Him in His Word with all our hearts… and we’ll find Him.

And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8a

So that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. Acts 16:27
