The Death Star is one of the deadliest projects in the entire sci-fi universe, designed to both intimidate and destroy all who dared to defy the evil Empire. But in Star Wars: Rogue One, we found that even this horrific construct was designed by a scientist who had deliberately engineered a fatal weakness into the system… one that would later be exploited by the Rebel fleet. While the enemy successfully brought their plans into reality, it was already doomed to fail spectacularly… it was destined to bring others into an intersection with their destiny.
As followers of Christ, our lives will be filled with challenging situations designed by our enemy to control our actions and conquer our faith. We have an active adversary who will develop weapons and form plans against us for the entire duration or our earthly lifetime… but we serve a risen Savior who takes the very things constructed to intimidate and destroy us to serve His purpose on this planet. Weapons WILL be formed against us by an opponent bent on defeating us, but even when it seems like they are winning, we can rest assured that He will turn them to our good.
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17
But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. Genesis 50:20
