The story of Cal Kestis that plays out over the course to the Star Wars: Jedi series fills in a few of the gaps in the Star Wars timeline… and it also introduces us to a “survivor” of Order 66 who errantly believed himself to be lost to the force and destined to live his life in hiding. But Cal’s destiny wasn’t merely to survive, and he was never “lost. He was intentionally hidden from the lethal Inquisitors that were hunting him down until he had grown strong enough to both face and defeat them… and unlock the pieces of a puzzle that would save the galaxy.
If the trials you’re dealing with have made you feel “lost” to the Lord, you are in pretty good company… many of our “heroes of faith” have felt the same way. Even Jesus cried out “Why have You forsaken Me?” from His cross… but the Father never loses track of us or abandons us no matter how crazy it gets. We will all face times of feeling unseen, unheard, or hidden while He completes the work He’s doing in us, and we are never lost from His eyes… we are simply shielded from view until we are ready for the next mission He has for us. We’re more than survivors in Christ… we are conquerors.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39
