One of my favorite spin-offs to come from the animated Star Wars: Clone Wars series is the “Bad Batch”… a group of “failed” clones who were deemed unfit to serve alongside the rest of the clone troopers due to their perceived imperfections. Originally considered defective, each member of Clone Force 99 revealed that while they weren’t designed exactly like their clone brethren, they were uniquely enhanced in a way that made them the perfect choice for specific missions. From elite sniping skills to an unmatched technical intellect, each seemingly inferior clone’s limitations were actually their superpowers… and when they combined them together into one unit they were unstoppable.

We all struggle with seeing ourselves as being “fearfully and wonderfully made”, especially when parts of ourselves or moments in our lives demonstrate our imperfections. But the Lord designed each of us in a manner that was perfect for our specific calling, and even our regrets can be used to support our mission if we place them into His hands. Don’t look in the mirror (or rear view mirror) and see a mistake… you are exactly what the body of Christ needs.

For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. Psalm 139:13-16
