Rebirth: The Repurposing of the Millennium Falcon

The Millennium Falcon is arguably one of the most popular and recognizable “spaceships” of all time, but it hasn’t always been known just for its’ speed and maneuverability… it was designed as a smuggling vessel, utilized for all manner of illegal activities prior to its’ more heroic actions. But the ship that had only been known to fellow thieves and pirates for ferrying ill-gotten gains would one day use those very cargo holds to shield and protect the galaxy’s greatest hope… and when it was time to take down a Death Star, the Falcon’s unique design was exactly what the situation called for.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve made many decisions in life that you regret and wish you could change… but while we can’t simply erase our “smuggling days”, we can change our smuggling ways and use the things which once brought us shame to serve the Lord’s purpose. No matter how we started our lives, the Father knew our every choice before we ever made it… and what we once used to serve the darkness can still be used for His glory if we submit ourselves to Him. He doesn’t just repurpose us… He reveals our true purpose.

And Joshua spared Rahab the harlot, her father’s household, and all that she had. So she dwells in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho. Joshua 6:25

By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace. Hebrews 11:31
